Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel 2007, Zilliken Saar
Exuberant on the nose, yet refined, this has notes of yellow plum and raisin, as well as a touch of caramel. On the palate, there are notes of grapefruit citrus and greengage fruit, as well as the more complex notes found in great botrytised wines: toffee, dried fruit and candied peel. An invigorating acidity lends balance and lift and this finishes beautifully long and mineral. Part of the New Fine Wine Parcel.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2007, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan
Deep, near opaque in the glass with mineral, graphite and cool, ripe fruit on the nose. On the palate there is a fragrant note to the dark cherry and currant fruit, with earthy, leafy elements too. More compact than many in this vintage, this has pleasing harmony and gentle direction lent to the fruit by soft, round tannins. A forward and attractive La Mission. Part of the New Fine Wine Parcel.
