Domaine Sainte Rose 'La Garrigue' Syrah Grenache 2009, Vin de Pays d'Oc

Majestic WineThe vineyards of Domaine Sainte Rose cover a total of 48 hectares, with planted vineyards amounting to 33 hectares. They spread from the clay/limestone soils found along the banks of the River Thongue up onto the gravelly schist soils of the plateau. Flavours of the Garrigue such as aromatic thyme with jammy, red fruit and spicy, black pepper, make this a wine of enormous character. It is warm and complex on the nose, rich and ripe on the palate. Superb structure and length allows cellaring for another couple of years but enjoy now with pepper steak.

Whilst this wine may not be available from the Fine Wine Centre please check with your local store for availability. Les Tourelles de Longueville is the second wine of Ch√Ęteau Pichon-Baron. It was introduced with the 1986 vintage and around 12,000 cases are typically produced each vintage. The wine is currently built around the plot of Sainte Anne, planted with a majority of Merlot. A deep, purple colour with an enticing nose of strawberry, blackcurrant and fresh roses. Silky tannins give a more 'ready-to-drink' style, packed with toasty vanilla notes and an unmistakable elegance. Well-balanced with a crisp structure this wine will drink well over the next 5-8 years. Drink with roast lamb or game pie.
