Well beyond the Trial for which the T stands for, RWT has become one of Penfolds' most expressive wines. Focusing on Barossa Valley fruit rather than sourcing grapes from all over Australia, the Red Wine Making Trial exhibits a spicy, savoury nose encompassing blueberry, blackberry and rosemary atop a roast beef element. The fleshy, opulent, long, lingering sensations on the palate rounded by subtle French Oak include dark chocolate, liquorice, espresso coffee, and spice. The 2006 RWT can be enjoyed in its youth, from 4 years old until well into its third decade!
